MARTIN COUNTY — Junior League of Martin County (JLMC) continued to support the Martin County School District and its teachers by purchasing books with funds raised through various sponsorships and events. In order to help Martin County teachers and encourage students to continue reading, JLMC distributed more than 5,000 books to four local schools.

JLMC and the Martin County School District collaboratively worked to host and plan “Snack & Shop” events at Palm City, Citrus Grove, Pinewood and Seawind elementary schools. Teachers were able to come and shop for books that would benefit their classrooms.

“Providing these additional resources for our local teachers and district directly impacts our children and their futures. I am excited to be a part of an organization such as Junior League that helps contribute so much to our community,” explained Arica Stetson, Community Committee member of Junior League of Martin County.
